On Thursday: Ugly Betty, Smallville, Hell’s Kitchen, Millionaire Matchmaker & Obama on Leno

Ugly BettyEp. “The Sex Issue”

So this week the Meade group went to secure new advertisers while Wilhelmina deals with sleeping issues. She continues to see Connor in her sleep and can’t get her mind off of it. It was hilarious watching the possessed-looking, open-eyed Wilhelmina fall asleep at MODE. Betty also dealt with sleeping issues of another sort. As a side note, has anyone noticed how little interaction Wilhelmina has with the son?!

Now it’s time for “Operation Betty Sexification.” I thought this scene was hilarious! Sight. Touch. Hair Flip. They were kindly helping Betty woo Matt into sewing her Latina oats, and the montage through the senses was awesome.

In the end, Wilhelmina got a nice talk from a night nanny and Betty got her lovin’.

SmallvilleEp. “Turbulence”

With Clark embrassing his alternate identities, Metropolis is feeling a wave of hope. At the same time, Davis/Doomsday is learning to control his “rage” by taking it out on Metropolis criminals. So in a sense, Earth’s worst enemy is actually doing a little bit of good. Vigilanty, Daredevil-like good, but good none the less. Obviously it isn’t going to last very long though.

Tess tries to manipulate Clark into revealing his powers by staging a midair plane accident as they fly to New York for a press conference. You could tell that she suspected Clark of being “different,” but I didn’t realize that she would put her life in danger to find out. Also, her code to go along with her plan was so cliché, “How’s the weather in LA?”

Now the Jimmy and Chloe portion of the episode was really sad. Jimmy decided that their relationship was a lie and denounced his marriage to Chloe. Chloe looks absolutely crushed and it will be interesting to see what happens with them in the future.

Hell's KitchenEp. “10 Competitors Remain”

So this week was much like every other. Lacey didn’t get along with the Blue team. The women were bickering to each other. Both kitchens did poorly in the service and Gordon wasn’t happy about it. Now with a little more microscopic look at this episode in particular, the chefs were challenged to make tapas (which I love!) and J was eliminated from the show during the dinner service.

Here is my deal with this show. I have watched it and almost ever other cooking competition and the chefs that are on this show don’t ever seem to be at nearly the same level as those from other shows. I mean look at the Top Chef contestants and the Hell’s Kitchen ones. Who do you think deserves a restaurant more? Seriously?!

It seems like the chefs don’t get any better next week.

Millionaire MatchmakerEp. “Shauna and Dave”

So this week we had an old favorite from season 1 and a new millionairess: “Sex Toy” Dave and Shauna, respectively. Also, apparently Patty wrote a book on dating. I am interested to see how many references to “the penis getting of the couch” there will be in the first chapter alone. My guess…13. So about the millionaires:

Shauna RaischShauna Raisch is a 41-year-old millionairess who owns a high-end salon in Minneapolis. She was quite the character. She had freaky, soul-sucking eyes, and she was an extremely superficial woman. I loved Patty’s line with her, “Baby steps…baby steps for the superficial bitch!” Hilarious. She went on dates with two men, but apparenlty she didn’t decide to go on a second date with either of them. I am all about dating older women, excuse me…more mature women, but there are some that are just as bad as the 18-year-old bimbos you find in your undergrad. Good luck, Shauna.

Dave LevineDavid Levine is a 40-year-old sex toy distributor who has stripper pole in his living room. He is more commonly known as “Sex Toy Dave,” and he really has no idea what he wants. It seems that, because of his industry, he believes he needs a crazy, swinger girl to date. Well this week he was given just that and OMG that was CRAZY! Did you people see Johanna? She was a psychotic, eye-licking, sex pot who is more forward than anyone I have ever seen. I mean the woman was straddling Dave’s head on the second date! Boundaries woman, boundaries. After the date, Dave decided he needed to move to a more “conservative” woman, but we don’t know how that is going.

The Tonight ShowEp. “Obama on Leno”

So I don’t normally watch The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, but tonight history was made…again. Obama has become the first United States President in history to be a guest on a late night talk show, and now that I have seen it, I must say it was AWESOME. You wouldn’t expect it, but Obama is extremely funny and interesting. He was cracking jokes while talking about stimulus packages and investments in future smart grids and alternative energy research. Discussing March Madness brackets just after explaining how the housing marketing will soon be bouncing back.

I am glad I saw it and I am glad we have such an awesome president.
