Ep. “Hex”
This week wasn’t one of the really necessary episodes if you know what I mean. Basically, Chloe is inadvertently granted her birthday wish by the Mistress of Magic, Zatanna. She wishes she could have the life that Lois Lane now has and is transformed into her while she is away in Mexico City. Throughout the rest of the episode, Clark and Lois (Chloe) go on a hunt to find Zatanna and reverse the curse. However, Zatanna is working her magic to find a book from her family that is within the Luthor archives. She basically contracts Oliver to acquire the book. Her master plan: to resurrect her father by sacrificing herself, a life for a life. Also, in the middle of the journey, Clark is hexed to believe that he doesn’t have any powers and that he is just a facts-only reporter.
The one really cool part about the episode was that Chloe discovers her “purpose.” She becomes Watchtower for the loosely-based Justice League headed by Green Arrow. She now is the tactical eyes and ears of Aquaman, Black Canary, Cyborg, Impulse and Green Arrow as they fight to save the world. I can’t wait to see where this new career track takes her.
Ep. “1 of 10 Voted off”
Following the Motown performances on Wednesday, we were able to catch the results show tonight. Lucky for me Survivor wasn’t on tonight so this scheduling didn’t mess up my viewing schedule. Anyways, the show of course began with a group number. Now as you know from past posts, I typically fast-forward straight through these segments since I hate them; however, this week I decided to watch it since I wanted to see what songs they chose to perform. Did anyone notice how lip synced the performance was? I mean it was so obvious it was painful to watch. Also, Lil Rounds was basically the front woman for the group performances and everyone else was just backup.
In addition to the group performance, there were also performances by Reubin, Joss Stone & Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder. I was kind of glad to see Reubin since I haven’t really heard anything from him since that horrible singe he put out in 2004, “I’m Sorry In 2004.” Joss Stone and Smokey’s performance was really good but it was somewhat awkward to watch them looking at each other during the performance. I mean Joss Stone is younger than I am and Smokey is older than my father so it was just a little creepy. Stevie Wonder’s medley performance was awesome. He definitely showed Scott MacIntyre what a true blind artist is. I mean there is no comparison between the two.
In relation to the results, Scott MacIntyre, Matt Giraud and Michael Sarver were in the Bottom 3 this week and Michael Sarver was eliminated. Of course he had the chance to be saved by the judges, but I knew the minute he was announced as the loser that there wasn’t a chance in hell that he would continue.
Ep. “Elevator Love Letter”
So this week’s episode did not begin as I expected. Well it did and it didn’t. They had Alex as the narrator, which makes sense since the episode was primarily about Izzie starting her treatment, but the opening scene had Christina being strangled by Owen in bed. Apparenlty, he is still dealing with some PTSD issues and he went into a somnambulant rampage.
The rest of the episode dealt with Sheperd trying to gain the confidence to work on Izzie, Alex dealing with the love of his life going under the knife, Callie dealing with the guilt from wishing Izzie would die in the past, George being both upset and scared at Izzie’s potential fatal diagnosis, and Christina and Meredith handling their own personal issues on top of Izzie’s procedure.
Also, Meredith gets engaged to Shepherd after a very sweet “Elevator Love Letter’ that chronicled their relationship through the cases they have worked on. I know most people have loved them from day one but I still cannot stand Shepherd.
Ep. “Matt & Jimmy D”
So this week, Patty started the episode bitching to her peons about how they suck at getting the money from the millionaires in the club, but after she was done reeming them, the episode moved on to the new millionaires of the week: Matt Hatchette and Jimmy D’Ambrosio.
Matt Hatchette, better known as Hatch, was an ex-NFL player and a current film producer/actor in Hollywood. He proved to be an interesting match for Patty since he was really combative when it came to the argument of whether chivalry was dead. In the end, Patty won, especially since she made Hatch go to a “Chivalry Boot Camp” before his date with Maya. They really seemed cute together and their date went well. I will be interested to see how they really fair in the long run. I think this was one of the good millionaires that weren’t too crazy or hard to manage for Patty and it showed as he was able to land a really cool and pretty girl.
Jimmy D’Ambrosio is an interestingly aggressive Italian club owner from Chicago. It was quite interesting watching him this week because he fit the stereotype of the Italian mob than anyone I have ever personally met (and p.s., if you Wikipedia his last name, you get Italian mobster hitmen). He couldn’t stop himself from talking in the third person, which I cannot stand, and he ended up selecting Cara as his match for the date. Now did anyone but me recognize Cara? She was recently on another dating show, Mamma’s Boys. I could recognize that unbelievably ditsy, wide-eyed, huge teethed bimbo from a mile away. She was crazy in Mamma’s Boys and she was still just as crazy when on a date with Jimmy D. Also, we found out she has a bit of a circuit issue in her brain (“Mal, Mal, Mal, um, Mal, Mal, Mali, Mali, Malibu”). I seriously thought she was a Stepford wife for a minute and that sparks were going to shoot out of her head. Makes sense since we also found out that she is a Scientologist. Doesn’t she know that you never talk religion on a first date? Anyways, their date didn’t go too well and Jimmy D has decided to remain single after the Hollywood disaster he had.

Let me say that I would love to know what went on this week in The Amazing Race. It is the one reality show that comes on on Sundays that I look forward to; however, this week I had stupid March Madness to destroy my television enjoyment. As with the NFL season, the programming on CBS on Sunday is plagued with delays due to sporting event overages. For some reason, CBS can’t just cancel 60 Minutes and let the primetime programming run like it should. Since they don’t do that, all the programs are pushed back, which kind of destroys your programs you plan on DVRing. This week, basketball games pushed the start of the Amazing Race to the last 6 minutes of its regular time. I believe that we, the masses, should start a petition to request that CBS at least post all their programming for free on On Demand in order to allow its loyal followers to watch the shows they enjoy. So just like with the NFL…I hate sports on Sunday. I hate Comcast. I hate CBS.

Shauna Raisch is a 41-year-old millionairess who owns a high-end salon in Minneapolis. She was quite the character. She had freaky, soul-sucking eyes, and she was an extremely superficial woman. I loved Patty’s line with her, “Baby steps…baby steps for the superficial bitch!” Hilarious. She went on dates with two men, but apparenlty she didn’t decide to go on a second date with either of them. I am all about dating older women, excuse me…more mature women, but there are some that are just as bad as the 18-year-old bimbos you find in your undergrad. Good luck, Shauna.
David Levine is a 40-year-old sex toy distributor who has stripper pole in his living room. He is more commonly known as “Sex Toy Dave,” and he really has no idea what he wants. It seems that, because of his industry, he believes he needs a crazy, swinger girl to date. Well this week he was given just that and OMG that was CRAZY! Did you people see Johanna? She was a psychotic, eye-licking, sex pot who is more forward than anyone I have ever seen. I mean the woman was straddling Dave’s head on the second date! Boundaries woman, boundaries. After the date, Dave decided he needed to move to a more “conservative” woman, but we don’t know how that is going.
