On Wednesday: Top Model, Idol Results & Make Me a Supermodel

So with Lost skipping a week my Wednesday night suddenly became filled with reality TV to watch. I mean tonight there are two model shows, a singing competition and a new restaurateur race. But at least there was still a new Damages on tonight to make me feel a little better about myself.

America's Next Top ModelEp. “Do You Light the Way I Look?”

YAY the makeover show! This is always a ANTM milestone and one of the best shows of the season. The producers have continuously moved this episode up so that more girls are there. They didn’t disappoint this year, there were tears and screams, but by Cycle 12, a lot of the girls have realized that its inevitable and they just got to take it (Well, most of them). Natalie decided she didn’t want her hair cut so she got nothing. Fo was really upset by her makeover. She is the one who got the “short” cut and she thought she looked butch. I, however, thought she looked really cute and edgy, especially with all those freckles.

The photo shoot was with photographer/judge Nigel Barker and the girls were tasked with “finding their light” by holding flash rods. Some of the girls did really well but others were somewhat drab. Now for the judging, Nole Maron (panel judge from Cycle 1-3) came back after doing True Beauty as a guest judge and he did not disappoint. He was brutally honest with those ladies and it was AWESOME to watch. “Ugh, you look like a hushpuppy”…classic!

In the end, Teyona was the winner for the week and Jessica from Puerto Rico was eliminated.

American IdolEp. “1 of 13 Eliminated”

First, the title of this episode was flawed. At last nights performances, Simon Cowell told everyone that 2 would be eliminated from this first week to bring the number down to 11. Second, I was for once somewhat exciting about other parts of the Results show that were beyond the results themselves. I mean Kelly Clarkson and Kanye performing, announcement of new “judges save” rule; how couldn’t that be exciting? That said, I was not excited about everything. I still cannot stand the awkward group song and had to fast-forward through it as always.

Now here are the two contestants who were eliminated:

Jasmine Murray

Jasmine Murray

Jorge Nunez

Jorge Nunez

No surprise on those who were eliminated. I am glad that Anoop get’s another chance.

Now with regards to the other parts of the show. Kanye performed “Heartless.” I love that song and his last album was the one that finally converted me. I have had a major issue with his sampling practices in the past but songs like “Heartless” are just cool! Also, I didn’t know that a late-80’s inspired, all-denim getup was acceptable and I would like Kanye to put that outfit back in the closet. Kelly performed “My Life Would Suck Without You.” Having heard the rest of her album already, I don’t think this is the best song on it, but it is her wildly successful single from the album and I understand why she performed it. She definitely has grown as a performer and I look forward to eventually seeing her in concert. BUY HER NEW ALBUM!!

Make Me a SupermodelEp. “Eye Candy”

So oddly enough, it was makeover day on Make Me A Supermodel today as well. The contestants first had an extreme artsy photoshoot where they were tasked to portray candy. Just like ANTM, some of the models fell flat and others really shined, creating compelling and artistic photographs.

Following the shoot, the contestants were visited by Tabatha who consultated each of the contestants on a potential new look. CJ was the most averse to the idea, not wanting to change her thin blonde hair. Tabatha didn’t take “no” for an answer and made her an edgy, short-haired brunette.

The catwalk was done in pairs and the contestants did a pretty good job. Candy seemed to be a recurring theme because the models had to carry over-sized lollipops and red vines down the runway with them.

In the end, Branden was the winner of immunity and overly-feminine Chris was eliminated.

On Tuesday: American Idol & Housewives

American IdolEp. “13 Finalists Compete”

So this week the contestants hit the “Big Stage” and it was an interesting week. The contestants were given the repitoire of Michael Jackson to

Lil Rounds: Performed “Way You Make Me Feel.” I am not going to lie, every time I hear this song I think of the movie Center Staged. I know how horrible that is. But in relation to Lil Rounds performance. I thought she did a great job. I loved the little liberties she took with the melody and wooooh does she have a falsetto.

Scott MacIntyre: Performed “Keep the Faith.” I must say, I haven’t really been a fan of him thus far, but this week he turned me. The judges weren’t lying when they said we needed to hear him on the piano. The performance felt heart-felt and the song was a good one. Way to go Scott! Did anyone think of Mika when he did that high note?

Danny Gokey: Performed “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).” Whoo that was a performance. The man has some pipes! My one thing is I question whether he would be able to sustain that kind of voice for an entire concert. The “soul” he possesses is definitely something that doesn’t seem normal for a white guy. He is like a white SEAL from Michigan.

Michael Sarver: Performed “You’re Not Alone.” I kind of feel bad for him because he had to follow Danny. Also, I really couldn’t stand how nasally he sang the song. And the fact that his voice kind of gave after the first power note does not bode well for me. It was aight.

Jasmine Murray: Performed “I’ll Be There.” She did good. She has balls though. I mean to do a song that has not only been performed by Michael Jackson but covered by Mariah Carey! That takes balls; and she did alright. I really agree with Kara that she needed to move down about 1/2 a key and she would have sounded effortless.

Kris Allen: Performed “Do You Remember.” So the performance was alright, he sang well, but I don’t know if it was as good as other performances. Now he was very smart though; he added a guitar to his persona. He was the “hot guy” for the girls, but now he is the “hot guy with the guitar.” This show is going to have a hard time getting rid of them. Note: As a man who has been MRAZ-merized, I love to hear Randy say a performance is Jason Mrazy.

Allison Irahetta: Performed “Give Into Me.” Smart decision at song choice. She chose one of the few Michael Jackson “rock ballads.” I really liked the performance but the women rockers haven’t ever held on too long. Only time will tell.

Anoop Desai: Performed “Beat It.” So I love this song and I have to say the minute they announced that this was Michael Jackon Week, I placed this on the list of songs the contestants shouldn’t touch, just below “Thriller.” I think I was right, and the judges agreed. The man is a performer but he just can’t match Michael Jackson with that song.

Jorge Nunez: Performed “Never Can Say Goodbye” by the Jackson 5. I don’t know why but Jorge reminds me of Ricky Martin merged with Marc Anthony…and that’s not a good thing. Now on top that this week, he seemed like he was in a lounge in Vegas. It was so ballroom I didn’t know what to do with myself while he was singing. Not my favorite tonight!

Megan Corkrey: Performed “Rockin’ Robin” by Jackson 5. She definitely has a relevance for the music industry right now but I don’t know how far she is going to get on the show. It just sin’t a voice that can really be showcased in a “mainstream” competition.

Adam Lambert: Performed “Black and White.” So another good performance by Adam. I do think he needs to expand his song selection a bit so that he doesn’t seem to be doing the same rock song thing every week…I will eventually will I get tired of the “rock scream.” However, it was definitely one of the best performances of the night.

Matt Giraud: Performed “Human Nature.” So it only seems appropriate that the duelling pianist plays the piano the same night as Scott MacIntyre. I thought the performance was not strong enough to really hold up to the other preformances of the night. This one might not get him through to the next round. I guess I’ll found out tomorrow.

Alexis Grace: Performed “Dirty Diana.” So she is one of my favorite artists. She not only has a unique sound, but she is cute and personable. I thought the performance was awesome and she has to move on. Side Note: does she look a bit like Majandra Delfin from Roswell?

So I think this is going to be one great Top 13. The contestants came out tonight and the majority of them sang songs that work for them and had killer performances. In the end, Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Lil Rounds and Alexis Grace were my favorites. I think Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Jorge Nunez and Jasmine Murray are the ones who need to be worried about the results tomorrow night.

Real Housewives NYCEp. “If You Have Nothing Nice to Say…”

So last week was the “spa/wellness” episode; this week we have the “home decor” episode. The show started with Jill dealing with her “gay husband” redesigning her apartment and then moved to Alex and Simon talking with an architect about their renovations. My thoughts on the matter…I wonder why Jill listens to her “gay” because I think his taste is HORRIBLE and I wonder if Alex and Simon are only doing these renovations because of the feedback from season 1 about their gross apartment. Later, Ramona and Kelley go to the Richard Meier “showroom.” Richard Meier is a world-famous architect just continuing the theme of the episode.

In other news, Bethenny gets a cover shoot with Social Life magazine and when LuAnn makes the comment, “Are they doing any retouching?” Bethenny gets upset. Now, I see how Bethenny took it, but in the same sense, LuAnn was a model and understands the photo shoot experience and I don’t think that she meant it in the way that Bethenny took it. I am glad that Bethenny maturely handled the situation by privately having lunch with her. But then she turned that right around by gossiping about it in the Social Life issue launch party. Tisk tisk Bethenny.

So the drama this season might be petty, but at least they are laying on the drama like the ladies of the OC without any issue.

On Friday: Dollhouse

DollhouseEp. “Grey Hour”

There is an aspect about this show that I really find fascinating. Basically, just like real life experiments, the Dollhouse organization truly doesn’t know the long term effects of their process on their “actives” and that they are learning about their patterns and behaviors while we, the audience, are.

This episode was a pretty good one. In it Echo is turned into a master burglar in charge of an antiquities heist. The part that made the episode interesting, however, was when Echo is remotely wiped and enters her “tabula raza” state while locked inside the vault. I have to give Eliza Dusku props because she did a great job at shifting acting personas so easily. In the end, she obviously gets out of the vault (thanks to a smoke bomb) and returned to the Dollhouse wiped clean of her robbery exploits.

It turns out that Echo’s wipe is traced back to the rogue “active,” Alpha. The upper management of the Dollhouse told the other workers that Alpha was taken care of after he massacred a number of people and then broke out of the complex, but as an audience, we have know that it was a lie for a while. Topher realizes Alpha’s involvement in the incident and, as such, receives a higher security clearance. Only time will tell if we get to learn more.

I think as the show progresses, there is going to be one big problem. As of now, the only characters the audience care about are Echo and her handler, Boyd. Characters like Topher, Victor, Peter and Sierra are not seen enough to really make anyone care if something happened to them. Although after this week, I think they may start working on this.

Great episode. Great show. Great end to the long week.

On Thursday: Idol Wild Card, Ugly Betty, Hell’s Kitchen & Millionaire Matchmaker

American IdolEp. “Judges’ Wild Card”

I intended to write about all the performances by the wild card contestants tonight, but I thought with performances and the results all in one night it would just be too much. Instead, I decided that just an overview of the show and the decision of the judges would suffice. This time the contestants definitely paid more attention to their song selection; many of them had songs that really seemed to represent who they are as a vocalist. In the end, the judges decided to put 4 wild cards through to the Top “13.” So for the first time in Idol history, there are going to be 13 contestants vying for the title of American Idol on the “big stage”

Here are the Wild Cards…

Jasmine Murray

Jasmine Murray

Anoop Desai

Anoop Desai

Megan Corkrey

Megan Corkrey

Matt Giraud

Matt Giraud

So now that the Wild Cards have been selected, the real fun of the show begins. I know some people really enjoy the early audition rounds with the horrible singers, but me, personally, I really look forward to the Top 12 rounds (or Top 13 this year) because then the real performances begin.

Ugly BettyEp. “Sugar Daddy”

So this episode had some potential as the Meade empire tries to deal with the aftermath of the Connor Embezzlement 2009. Also, amidst the work drama, Betty has to deal with a new man in her life, Matt from YETI, and the possible eviction from her home in Queens.

Of course, the Meade portion of the episode centers around Daniel and Wilhelmina trying to get bail out money from the government. I love that they played off the whole “government giving money to everyone” sentiment that is sweeping the nation. I mean if the government is willing to give money to the dying automotive industry, then why not the print world?

Side note: Did anyone see the awesome placement of the Charles Schwab ad right after Daniel said he didn’t receive the bail out money? “First of all, who’s going to bail me out?” Bravo Charles Schwab!

I also loved the “Kitchen Rumble” part of the episode. Watching Ignacio grind his molcajete made me laugh hysterically. Of course, the cooking battle was fixed, but in the end Ignacio was able to get the $10,000 he needed to keep the house.

Hell's KitchenEp. “12 Chefs Compete”

The allure of this show for the majority of its viewers is obviously to listen to Gordon Ramsay get really angry at the competing chefs. The most aggravating part of this show (at least for me) is that damn narrator and FOX’s editing decision to always cut to commercial before anything happens (no matter how small). I just HATE it!

The episode was alright. Once again both teams got caught up on the meat station and Ramsay shut down the kitchen with less than half the dining room receiving their main dishes. I was kind of proud of Lacey and her determination to prove herself to the blue team.

Millionaire MatchmakerEp. “Harold & Jeff”

On Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker, Patty took on another two millionaire clients: Harold and Jeff. Here is what I think about them:

Jeff KozJeff Koz is a 49-year-old, Grammy-nominated jazz musician/producer (and the brother of famous jazz musician Dave Koz). He joins the Millionaire’s Club after a divorce, and according to Patti, he is dealing with “divorced-dad-itus.” According to her, “his picker is off.” He really seemed like a great guy. I thought his dates were pretty entertaining. His first date with Clarissa was hilarious because he just didn’t know what to do with her. His second date with Brandi was obviously more comfortable for him. Unfortunately, Brandi wasn’t feeling him as much. Poor Jeff!

Best Quote: “I was just on a date with Mother Teresa…a hot, slender, ballet dancing, Ace-bandage wearing Mother Teresa.”

Harold WrobelHarold Wrobel is 49, old and lonely. He is a returner from season 1, but he is still the gross letch he was before. To help him with his younger-woman issue, Patti decides to take drastic measures to help Harold get over his narcissistic ways by giving him a “dating intervention.” This time, Patti decides to just give him a date with a woman that she thinks is right rather than having him go through the typical mixer process. I think he is disgusting. I don’t understand his infatuation with younge women when he is soooo old. And I don’t know if I am totaly off on this but for some reason he reminds me of Stephan from Top Chef. Also, what was that intimate information he told Michelle? I NEED TO KNOW!

On Wednesday: Idol, Lost, Damages & Top Chef Reunion

American IdolEp. “3 Finalists Chosen”

So after last night’s questionable performances, tonight’s result shows was geared up to be quite the guessing game. Who will move on to the Top 12 from the final set of 36? Who is going to have to hope for a Wild Card spot? As a reminder, my prediction was for Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre and Felicia Barton (possibly). Also, does anyone hate the choreographed segments as much as I do? They pick good songs but they are made SOOO CHEESY that I can’t stand them!

So here is who made it through…

Lil Rounds

Lil Rounds

Scott MacIntyre

Scott MacIntyre

Jorge Nunez

Jorge Nunez

I guess my predictions were still pretty on point. I knew that the third spot from this weeks competitors was up for grabs, and the Puerto Rican, Jorge Nunez, was able to take hold of it.

Tomorrow we get the Wild Card round of American Idol, and the contestants who were selected for an additional audition are: Von Smith, Jasmine Murray, Ricky Braddy, Megan Corkrey, Tatiana Del Toro, Matt Giraud, Jesse Langseth and Anoop Desai.

LostEp. “LaFleur”

With this week’s episode, I was hoping a few questions would be answered, especially some of the ones that were presented last week. Instead, they start the episode with a whole new batch of them. What is with the apparent Anubis statue? Is it related to the “monster’s” lair we saw two weeks ago? Why is Sawyer the Head of Security for the Dharma Initiative now? Did the time travelling group end up in the past and decide to infiltrate the Dharma camp?

Apart from adding more questions, this episode was really an empty one. Obviously, the group does enter the Dharma Initiative community and begins to develop a life there. The one real point of interest is this new love between Juliet and Sawyer. It seems he is always able to steal Jack’s ladies. Also, we find out that Sawyer has gotten over Kate. Or has he?

Top ChefEp. “Season 5 Reunion”

So this year, the reunion wasn’t that eventful. Even with the rivalry between Hosea and Stephan, there didn’t seem to be much stuff for the cast to discuss. Of course they discussed Hosea’s journey to the title, highlights from the judge’s table and awesome Carla moments. They did bring up a few interesting things though. They talked about this “Birthday Curse.” Apparently there were a large number of contestants eliminated on (or around) their birthday this season. Also, they had to discuss the budding relationship between Hosea and Leah. I honestly think they are gross together and don’t care what the do. I can say though that I think this year’s contestants were the most creative in the Stew Room…Glad Wrap Volleyball, what?! And the one part of the reunion that you need to know. Who is the Fan Favorite? The winner is…

Top Chef Fan Favorite - Fabio Viviani

Top Chef Fan Favorite - Fabio Viviani

I love this show and Season 5 was definitely another great season. I cannot wait for the next season. I also cannot wait for NBC and Lifetime to get out of litigation so that we can have another season of Project Runway. Come one, the finale has already been taped!

DamagesEp “You Got Your Prom Date Pregnant”

I just start with saying that I love the structure of this show. With many of the dramas on TV today, especially the ones dealing with the law, the show has these small storylines for each episode and then an overarching storyline. With Damages, the entire show is the latter, and I think it is better for it. You are almost obligated to watch every episode in order to stay on top of it. Also, with their flashes to the end of the season, the intrigue is nearly unbearable. Way to go FX for creating such an awesome show.

For the episode, not to much really happens to progress the story. Patty decides to attack the FBI after the death of Uncle Pete and the investigation of Patty is put into question when no evidence of the case file can be found. Also, Detective Messer tells Wes to “eliminate” Ellen. We will have to find out later if he goes through with it.

On Tuesday: American Idol & Housewives

So this is yet another week without the Aussie awesomeness that is Simon Baker in The Mentalist. We, however, did get more shows than last Tuesday since the President isn’t taking up all the primetime slots.

American IdolEp. “Third 12 of 36”

The final set of 12 contestants performed to get a spot in the Top 12. This week’s contestants were very promising; a lot of them were ones I wanted to get through during the early audition rounds.

Von Smith: Performed “You’re All I Need to Get By” by Marvin Gaye. I thought the performance was alright. He performed the song well but I don’t agree that it was as good as the judges thought.

Taylor Vaifanua: Performed “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys. I think she performed the song well, definitely a better performance in my opinion than Von Smith’s. My only issue with it is that she selected a song that is so “trademarked” by an artist. Alicia Keys has a very distinct tone and originality in her music and to try and recreate it is something that doesn’t really work.

Alex Wagner-Trugman: Performed “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues” by Elton John. I really didn’t get the gruntal portions of the song, and boy did I laugh when he knocked over the mic stand. I don’t believe it was a performance that will get him through to the Top 12. The only chance he has is if the ladies find his dorkiness cute. Pity vote if you will.

Arianna Afsar: Performed “The Winner Takes It All” by ABBA. She is just as cute as a button! Also, she decided to enter a new world for American Idol by being the first person in Idol history to perform a song by the Swedish pop giant. The only issue I had with her performance was that it seemed a bit theatrical, like she was auditioning for Mamma Mia!. Her vocals were a also a little pitchy at times and kind of gloomy. I didn’t think it was as bad as the judges thought.

Ju’not Joyner: Performed “Hey There Delilah” by The Plain White Tees. I am not going to lie, I am a bit tired of hearing this song on American Idol after Hollywood week. Also, his rendition of the song was very boring. I do give him props for trying to give it an R&B vibe though.

Kristen McNamara: Performed “Give Me One Reason” by Tracy Chapman. What was she wearing during her performance? She looked like she was getting ready to attend a Catholic school dance in 1993. Her performance was good though. I didn’t realize that she could hit a note that high.

Nathaniel Marshall : Performed “I Will Do Anything For Love” by Meatloaf. This man’s voice and image do not mix. He’s an Indy “scene” kid who has a serious theatrical voice and flamboyant stage presence. I also don’t think his rendition of the rock classic was anything to write home about. I am glad he didn’t cry this time though.

Felicia Barton: Performed “No One” by Alicia Keys. Can anyone explain to me how she is here? What happened? She was cut then she’s in the Top 36?” Also her voice makes me think that she is the illegitimate love child of Alicia Keys and Nelly Furtado (if that were possible). I must say that she was definitely better at performing Alicia Keys when compared to Taylor Vaifanua. She has a chance of getting through.

Scott MacIntyre: Performed “Mandolin Rain” by Bruce Hornsby. I know he is one of the favorites of America with his “overcoming challenges” story, but I really don’t think he has the best voice in the competition. I am sure he will get through, but I wonder how long he will be around.

Kendall Beard: Performed “This One’s For the Girls” by Martina McBride. I really was pulling for her for some reason, but she definitely was a bit flat through most of the song. I don’t know if there is any hope for her to continue on.

Jorge Nunez: Performed “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down” by Elton John. I think he has a good voice, but I don’t think he was able to pull off the awesomeness that is Elton John. I guess we’ll find out what America thought sooner than later.

Lil Rounds: Performing “Be Without You” by Mary J. Blige. I think she picked a song that really meets her personality and she sang it very well. On top of that, she is probably one of the most personable contestants on the show this year. People like her. I like her. You do what you do so well Lil Rounds.

So this week, predicting the contestants that make it through is kind of tough. I would probably guess…Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre and Felicia Barton (but that third spot is really up for grabs).

Real Housewives NYCEp. “On Their High Horses”

This week was the first one where the ladies of New York didn’t have to compete with the women of Orange County. It worked in their favor since the OC women were such train wrecks.

So I really cannot decide who my favorite housewife of New York is. In the OC, Gretchen was my #1. In NYC, I thought it would be LuAnn; she seemed the most down to earth, but this season they are really making her look like a snooty bitch. I definitely hate Ramona. Bethenny and Jill are a bit too gossipy for me, and I cannot deal with the oddity that is Alex and Simon. Maybe this is why they added Kelly to the cast. She has potential of taking the place of the favorite housewife.

In relation to the episode, they must have decided to make this one the “health & wellness” week. Not only do they begin the episode with surf lessons, they also show LuAnn playing tennis, the women attending  boot camp,  a spa day with Simon and Alex, Kelly going horseback riding, and Bethenny and Jill going to the salon for hair cuts and facials before the “Tea Dance” gay party. Seriously, they should have just called it “Housewives for Health,” but listening to Jill at the class was hilarious. I also want to have Simon stop talking about not being gay. It seems like he is trying to over-compensate for the flack he got about his sexuality in season 1.

This episode was definitely better than last weeks, but it looks like the real drama will start next week. Keep your fingers crossed!

On Monday: Chuck, Heroes & The Bachelor

Monday is always an exciting day. No matter the promo, I cannot wait for Chuck and Heroes to air on NBC. On top of that, there is the season finale of The Bachelor where Jason Mesnick picks his future wife. YAY MONDAY!

ChuckEp. “Chuck Versus the Beefcake”

I am starting to get frustrated with the entire Chuck/Sarah relationship. I think Sarah is HOT! I also think that for the show, the tension between Sarah and Chuck is really sweet, and all I want is to have them really be together. I understand the whole don’t-mix-work-and-pleasure bit, but come on, let the man have some. And back off MI-6 agent, you can not “butter her muffin!”

Best Quote: “Come with me if you want to live.” The minute I heard it, I couldn’t help but think of the Govern-ator saying it, and then laugh incessantly. Oh, Arnold!

The torture scene was hilarious. I mean to watch Chuck whine over the chains, also know as the “pre-torture,” made me laugh out loud. Also the numerous little one-liners throughout the scene just helped the comedy.

In the end, Chuck and Sarah are moving in together! As a means of 24-hour protective custody of course.

HeroesEp. “Exposed”

One thing I liked about this episode was that Claire’s mom finally shows she isn’t some crazy woman with a dog named Mr. Muggles. She proves to Claire that she a savvy woman who’s extremely observant and smarter than expected. I wish she would show me that fake ID trick, haha. I could make a fortune!

Also, does anyone love the cheesy head-tilt thing that Peter and Matt use while they are “pushing thoughts” as much as I do? For some reason it makes me laugh every time. And of course, their Daphne rescue operation goes horribly wrong and Matt Parkman is taken into custody. In the same storyline, Peter is shot and then rescued by Nathan and the video of the government operation is leaked. It looks like Nathan and the government have a lot of work to do to keep the nature of the operation under wraps.

Is anyone else with me in wanting Sylar’s storyline to pick up? I want him to stop being this, “where’s my father?” person with a chip on his shoulder and kick some ass like he did in the older seasons. I initially really hated Sylar, which I imagine many people around the globe did, but as seasons progressed, I slowly have developed an understanding of him. I think you never approve of his actions, but you understand his motivation so his actions aren’t surprising. Kind of like an accepted evil. Also, how does Sylar’s father have the same murdering MO? Sylar had to steal that power to cut open people’s heads. Where did the father get it?!

Good episode, not the best. I hope this one picks up like the Chapter 3 did in the Fall.

The BachelorEp. “The Final Rose”

So I haven’t had a chance to watch this finale yet but I did find out who Jason Mesnik picked as his “future wife.” There is some speculation as to how she will adjust to her new life in Washington and to being the new woman in Ty’s life, but here she is…

Molly - Jason's Future Wife?

Molly - Jason's Future Wife?

I will give my actual commentary after I watch the episode this afternoon. I must say I was a big fan of Jillian and was really depressed that she didn’t get the final rose. So at this point I really didn’t care who he picked.

As a side note, I purchased Guitar Hero: World Tour yesterday. We will have to see if this has an affect on my TV habits and postings in the future. Only time will tell. All I know is that I will be rockin’ out like it’s my job!

On Friday: Dollhouse

So Friday is kind of my break from TV. If you have been following me through the week, you would understand it’s a break that’s truly warranted. But even with it being my break night, I still have to watch something…

DollhouseEp. “Stage Fright”

So I like this show. I don’t love it, but I like it. I think the concept is pretty intriguing and I have historically been a Whedon fan. Buffy. Firefly. Stardust. He just seems to have a knack to write the fantastical story with a strange twist on normalcy. Dollhouse is no exception: a mysterious private company who’s contracted to provide a person to meet the clients every need; the imprinting of memories into “actives” to create the perfect product; a police investigator, Ballard, attempting to uncover the ethically-questionable organization; and an active, Echo, who might be malfunctioning slightly (which Dollhouse doesn’t like to see). It’s just strange enough.

This week, within the music industry introspective we witnessed, we were made aware that Lubov (Ballard’s informant) is actually an “active” being used by the company to throw his investigation off track. Apart from that insane plot twist, not much else happened. The “mission” of the episode, where Echo worked as a back-up singer with a bodyguard twist, was all a bit contrived and emotionally lackluster. The overarching story got a bit more complex (which I like), but apart from that, episode 3 was not the best.

The other thing I like about this show is that it is the second experimental subject of FOX’s revolutionary, “Remote-Free TV.” Its a commercial media strategy where FOX can charge companies premium prices for commercials during their more popular programming. FOX can do this because have reduced the number of spaces significantly (which also give us about 6 extra minutes of our show), but it’s just supply-and-demand bitches. Now the break is short enough that it isn’t worth the effort to reach for the remote and fast-forward through to the commercials. Genious.
